Welcome to The Village of Westbury Heritage Trail!

Westbury Mayor Peter I. Cavallaro and the Village Board tasked the Westbury Village Historic Preservation Committee with the project of selecting local sites within the Village to be designated as having historic significance. the goal is to highlight and commemorate the Village's rich local history which dates back to the 1600's when Quaker farmers first settled in the area.

The sites chosen:

House of Ambrose Clark (Westbury Community Center and War Memorial) (1903)

Westbury Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (1671)

Hicks Nurseries (1853)

Site of Vanderbilt Cup Race Grandstand (1904)

Children's Library Robert Bacon Memorial (1924)

Westbury African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church (1834)

Four additional sites have been added in 2018:

Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church (1887)

Early Westbury Public School (1857)

Episcopal Church of the Advent (1910)

Westbury Neighborhood House (1916)
